Question

Answer

01

Yes

We agree autism spectrum disorder definition should be in the Bill, but query whether this should be part of the ALN transformation agenda rather than a separate entity.

02

Not sure

WHO definition gives a consistent approach across Wales.

However other disorders included in the ALN Bill.

03

Yes

As long as they work together.

Adult definition in the Bill is contrary to ALN Bill and work completed with children with disability. Youth services extended entitlement to 25.

04

Not sure

What about equality issues -why give powers for people on autistic spectrum and not other disorders/disabilities.

05

Timelines aren't an issue however any strategy/guidance  needs to link with other legislation and strategies - SS and WB act 2014, ALN transformation agenda.

Are we in danger of having too much strategy that could contradict each other.

08

As we feel any legislation should be linked.

09

Not sure

The draft strategy says the assessment should be within two months of the diagnosis or a meeting following the diagnosis (whichever is the later).  It is worth noting that everyone with a diagnosis of autism already has the right to an assessment from social services under existing legislation. Therefore the change may be one of an active offer of assessment being made rather than any additional right to assessment.  Despite this if an assessment is going to be offered to all following diagnosis what is not clear is who should do this assessment.

10

Yes

But shouldn't be a definitive list.

11

Education officer.

14

What about the GDPR.

15

It should be written in the guidance.

16

No

Because of GDPR

17

Not sure

Shouldn't it include a range of disorders not just autism.

19

Why is there a separate autism bill and other disorders not included.
